This is currently a WIP, I am curating a collection of personal findings, ephemera and books of personal significance to me. Not my own work, but defying my design approaches.

Speedy Dating
2024

TaskI was approached by Gemma, who runs Speedy Dating—a series of speed dating events held monthly across various venues in London. This particular event took place at Gosnells of London in Bermondsey, and I was tasked with creating promotional assets for the occasion.

Design MechanicsFor the event’s identity, I embraced the passionate colour of red, allowing the typography to take more prominance. To reflect the hodgepodge nature of the event and the diverse range of characters attendees might meet, I chose an expressive, mixed typeface that conveys this vibrant energy. To enhance the theme, I incorporated playful card elements (because love may be on the cards) and two heart-shaped balloons, symbolising the coming together of hearts.

I designed the body copy with a flowing effect, allowing the letters to merge seamlessly, almost in a liquid-like manner, to evoke a sense of fluidity and connection. This approach not only captured the spirit of the event but also invited potential participants to envision the exciting encounters awaiting them.
