Primark: A Big Occassion2024
Challenge + InsightWhen Primark approached Rodeo to launch their brand-new occasionwear range, we knew the invite would be the most crucial element to showcase before our mock wedding event. This event featured a beautifully set dinner, an incredible DJ, and comedy performances by our special guests of honor, Chris Hall and Grace Campbell. Invites are so important—they set the tone for the entire event, especially for a wedding. My task was to create an invite that not only captured the excitement of a wedding-themed occasion but also aligned with Primark’s current brand identity.
Design MechanicsI began by designing an elegant lock-up for “A Big Occasion” and carefully selected a supporting typeface for the event details that complemented the lock-up without overpowering or clashing with the overall design. To weave Primark’s brand identity into the invite, I incorporated their signature blue colour in a tasteful way. Instead of overwhelming the design with their iconic blue, I chose imagery that could be gradient mapped to it, adhering to their brand guidelines.
ResponsePrimark loved the design for the invite so much that they wanted to apply this system across various assets for the event. This included featuring the lock-up above the main stage and designing all menus to align with these guidelines.
